NOSTRAVIA BAR STOOL

Some of us are fortunate enough to marry into a large, close knit family.  A family that supports each other in times of individual need.  A family that lives close enough to enjoy holidays and group outings together.  In the summer these special days being an excuse to throw chicken and burgers on the grill,  play a game or two of horse shoes, and catch up on news as the next generation runs around releasing steam.  Multigenerational gatherings that remind me of my youth growing up in Africa and Europe.

To have a family like this you need someone like my late father-in-law, Paul Lizanecz, who placed “family” above anything else.  A descendant of Hungarian immigrants with strong ties to Pennsylvania, Paul with his wife Peggy raised their six children in Maine.  In the last few years of his life I grew quite close to Paul as I helped him on different projects around his home.  Paul loved to work with his hands making improvements to his house and building furniture out of pine.  I regret that he never had the opportunity to sit on any of my handcrafted chairs, cradling a cup of tea in his hands, during one of his many visits up to Cornville to see us.

With the Lizaneczs, as in so many other families, the kitchen is where most gatherings begin and end.  During these social events attractive and comfortable kitchen island or bar height stools would be appreciated and quickly occupied.  The Nostravia stools will fill the need for extra kitchen seating in your home as well.  These stools are all about family and are built to survive generations of use.  Paul would have been drawn to the Nostravia stool with its deeply hand carved seat and wedged front leg tenons. This stool was designed and built with him in mind....”Nostravia Paul”.
